Jupiter Technos Water Ionizer

Jupiter Technos Water Ionizer

A batch ionizer such as the HiddenCures ionizer has advantages over a flow-through unit such as the Mavello water ionizer

  • All flow-through ionizers such as the Technos that connect to the tap suffer from one major disadvantage: You cannot purify the water as well as you would like. All ionizers require minerals to work, and if you do a really good job of purifying your water and removing the toxins, you will also remove the minerals.

  • Those really serious about water quality use a distilled or reverse osmosis water filter, yet none of the ionizers such as those made by Jupiter that attach to your tap can use one. In order to be sure you have removed all the toxins, you have to remove everything from the water. Then add back what you want, such as salt.

  • A batch unit is capable of a greater degree of  oxidation reduction potential (ORP) because you can run the ionizer until the desired degree is reached. With a flow through unit, once the water passes through the ionization chamber you are done. A typical ionizer like the Technos is capable of producing an ORP of about -200 to -300 mV. The HiddenCures unit will achieve this in one or two hours, but it has been measured to produce over -800 mV after 8 hours (the more negative, the greater anti-oxidant power).

If you are convinced that a batch ionizer is what you want, prices start at about $1,000. However, the HiddenCures unit, without any bells or whistles, sells for under $150.

Note: The pH that an ionizer produces is not important as compared to the ORP. You can easily change the pH of water by adding a few drops of vinegar, or bicarbonate of soda. When it hits your stomach, the pH of the water will not have much effect. It is the negative hydrogen ion (the hydride) with its extra electron that makes ionized water valuable.

Details of the Technos

The Jupiter Technos is one of the least expensive flow-through water ionizers that connect to your tap. It produces alkaline water, with acid water as a byproduct.

The Jupiter water ionizer has five levels of alkalinity to choose from. You can switch off the ionizer, and have purified-only water.

It has a self-cleaning cycle that runs every time it is started, and also after 10 minutes of usage. The power comes on automatically when water starts to flow. It connects to a diverter valve on your tap.

It has a carbon filter to remove chlorine and other contaminants from the water.

It has an automatic indicator when to replace the filter; it is based on time of use.

The carbon filter has a port to add calcium pellets.

It has a flow rate of 1 gallon per minute.
